MC Syze is a Malaysian rapper, entertainer, & producer. He's also had a stint as a radio personality and regularly does voice-acting gigs.
A veteran of the local scene, Syze is known first & foremost as a hip-hop artist of the highest calibre.
After 16 years of being an active recording artist in the Malaysian music landscape, he's decided to embark on a new chapter in his career & leverage the knowledge & wisdom gained from his time in the local urban scene and start his own label - Trigger Happy Records.
The first project coming from this exciting fully-independent label is MC Syze's own album - Syze Does Matter.
The lead single of this record is ATCL (A Thing Called Love) which debuted on 9th July 2020 and has garnered over 130,000 unique plays in nearly 50 countries including USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore & of course, Malaysia. All this, without so much as a publicist, distribution deal or even professional management of any sort.
The following single, Selamba features local hip-hop stalwart & DefJam Southeast Asia's current president himself - Joe Flizzow. Selamba has won over fans & critics alike & is on it's way to becoming a cultural milestone in Malaysian Music. The music video is directed by ATG who's been making waves in the local scene providing visuals for prominent Malaysian creatives like Zamaera & Luqman Podolski.
To truly encapsulate the truly multicultural appeal of Syze Does Matter, the record also boasts a Tamil banger slated for a Thaipusam release featuring a mammoth of the local Tamil scene - Psychomantra. The song, called Salasalapu addresses social ills & focuses on propagating a positive narrative and will have a fully animated video by Chennai-based, Kensmen Film Squad.
